Classic Chicken Salad
Do you like chicken salad, but think it can be complicated to make? A classic chicken salad recipe is usually made up of chicken, mayo, hard-boiled egg, celery, onion, pepper, pickles, and a variety of mustards. But this can take too long to make on the fly.
Jason’s Deli chicken salad has only 6 ingredients and takes only 10 minutes to make.
How to Make Jason’s Deli Chicken Salad
Would you be surprised to know the secret ingredient in this recipe is crushed pineapple? It’s surprisingly amazing and slightly sweet. And the almonds give it the perfect crunch!
Here’s what you need:
- Chicken Breast
- Mayonnaise
- Crushed Pineapple
- Almonds Slivers
- Salt & Pepper
After you shred the chicken, combine it with the mayonnaise, crushed pineapple, almond slivers, salt, and pepper. Make sure it’s completely mixed together and refrigerate for an hour before serving.
Notes
- If you do not want to drain your pineapple you don’t need to, but you will need to reduce the amount of mayonnaise by at least a tablespoon.
- Store the chicken salad in the refrigerator in a sealed container. It will last for about 2-3 days.
- If you are going to freeze the chicken salad, do not mix in the mayo until you are ready to eat.
- Chicken salad can be served hot or cold. This recipe is cold but you can use warm chicken for the salad.
- You can serve this chicken salad alone, with crackers, on a sandwich, or you could get fancy and stuff it inside of cream puff shells for a party.

I recently had Jason’s Chicken Salad, and it was made with red grapes instead of pineapple.

This IS the recipe! I received the exact same recipe from a friend who used to be a GM at Jason’s. I use Miracle Whip, and sometimes toss in a handful of dried cranberries.Reply
