Letter K Crafts for Preschoolers Ideas
Koala Crafts
To make this craft preschool friendly, precut the pieces for the craft, including the newspaper circles. Have them put the face together and draw on the smile. Then a grown up will have to assist with some of the assembly. Your preschooler will love crumpling up newspaper balls and stuffing the koala before closing it up with staples. To make this craft preschool friendly, you will likely want to precut all of the pieces for your koala craft. You can also reduce the mess by using markers, crayons or paint sticks (which are not part of our master list of supplies) for coloring the 2 paper plates before assembly your craft. Kangaroo Craft
This kangaroo craft is a little bit more complex than the other crafts on this letter K crafts list. But with just a few tweaks, it can easily be completely by preschoolers. To start, precut the parts for the kangaroo. Then replace painting with coloring with crayons or markers instead. You can even prepare the body of the kangaroo ahead of time if your child will have difficulty operating a stapler. Your preschooler will color the paper plate body, assemble the kangaroo using glue sticks and add any details and the face with markers or crayons. Kite Craft
To make this kite craft a little more preschool friendly, precut the kit shape. Then let your preschooler decorate the kite using tissue paper squares without any rules or design in mind. Just let the imagination run wild. Once the tissue paper squares have been put in place, a grown up can trim around the outside edge. Kitten Craft (or Kitty Craft)
This sweet little sleeping kitten craft is so simple to make, but to make it even more preschool friendly you might want to make a couple of tweeks. Precut the parts for your cat craft from a construction paper color of your choice. And if you don’t want the mess and wait time of using paint, color the paper plate with crayons or markers instead. Any time you are crafting with a preschooler, it’s important to remember that done is better than perfect. It’s the process that’s important…not the final product. Their craft is not going to look like a grown up made it…and it shouldn’t. Let them be as independent as possible, guiding gently but not taking over the process in favor of perfection.
