This crochet slipper pattern has got to be the squishiest thing I have ever put on my feet! While designing the pattern I made a pair for myself and I’ve worn them everyday since!

I love sharing free crochet patterns with you guys and I really hope you enjoy it! Sizing was a bit of a challenge for me, but I have included sizes toddler through mens and a couple size chart PDF’s you’re welcome to use if you are more of a visual person.

You can purchase the ad-free printable PDF version of this crochet slipper pattern here in my Etsy shop. The PDF Includes

  • Fully photographed child size XL PDF
  • Printer Friendly PDF (no pictures) for all sizes Toddler through Mens
  • PDF of Quick Reference Chart
  • PDF of Simple Sizing Chart

Before You Start ????????????????????????

  • This crochet slipper pattern includes 9 sizes- Toddler, Child S-XL, Adult S-L and Mens. View the chart below for size comparison and dimensions.
  • If you need to make half sizes (like bigger than a small but smaller than a medium) just go up to an 8mm hook size.
  • If you need to make a “wide” version, just repeat the last row in the sole portion, this will make the sides taller and it will stretch further for wider feet.
  • The slippers WILL STRETCH… so if you make it and it’s tight when you first put it on, walk around for about 20 minutes and it will stretch out significantly.
  • They are machine washable, but if you put fabric puffy paint on the bottoms to keep them from being slippery, you will need to wash them inside out and lay flat to dry.
  • I will be making a kid’s Extra Large size for this tutorial, all other sizes will be linked at the end for quicker loading times.
  • Other sizes will not be photographed (that would take me literally 100000 years) – Refer to this size’s photos for reference.

Materials

7mm Crochet Hook
Bernat Blanket Yarn
Tapestry Needle
Scissors

Stitch Key (US Terms)

CH = Chain
SC = Single Crochet
INC= Increase (Put two stitches in the same space. In this case, it will be two SC stitches.)
DEC= Decrease (turn two stitches into one. In this case, it will be two SC stitches. Explained under special stitches)
SL ST= Slip Stitch
*= To Be Repeated

Special Stitches

Modified Bobble: *YO, Insert hook into stitch and pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2 loops on your hook* Repeat 2 more times. Now you should have 4 loops on your hook. YO and pull through all 4 loops on your hook.

Back Bump: This is where you flip your starting chain over and insert your hook into the “back bump” of the chain and place your stitch there. If you are unfamiliar with this technique I would suggest watching this tutorial below by Fiber Flux on YouTube.

Invisible Decrease: Insert your hook into the front loop of your first stitch, insert your hook into the front loop of your second stitch, pull up a loop. YO, pull through both loops on your hook.

When you go to print the Sizing PDF (the colorful one) you will need to make sure it’s printed TRUE TO SIZE and doesn’t get compressed at all. The Red sole shape should measure 5.5″ when printed.

Tip: This would be a good resource for you to take to craft shows and markets so your customers can be sure they size they order is the correct size!

If you print at Office Depot they will be able to do that for you! Just make sure you tell them it needs to be true to size.

Set this aside and grab the other end of your skein to start making the top of your bootie.

Note: I like working from both ends of the skein so I don’t waste any yarn or lose at yarn chicken by underestimating how much yarn I will need.

Insert your hook into the Back Loop of the first stitch in row 3 of the top piece. (where you just slip stitched without chaining)

Now insert your hook into the Front Loop of the 7th stitch from the end on the right side of the slipper bottom. (So count up 6 from the chain and insert your hook into the 7th stitch) and place a SC.

Flip your crochet slipper inside out to sew in all your tails using a tapestry needle (hiding them on the inside of your slipper). Then flip it right side out again after your tails are sewn in and you’re all finished!!
